Is that a staggering amount of job growth in the next few years? The skills that you will really have to develop will be in the fields of typography, computer graphics, production design and digital design. Typical school level achievement to get in on the ground floor for a lot of these positions is usually a bachelor’s degree which there a tons of programs for this field at schools all over the country.

Is having a degree the only way that you can break into this field? Of course not especially with it being so easy to build your own website now a days. Creating your own online credentials is another option that you may want to pursue because honestly the real purpose of being a graphic web designer is generating content and design for the internet, that is all it really is when you break it down to it’s simplest form. So to be honest with you I think the potential for the really good graphic web designers is way more than the 13% they are quoting as your potential employer for this type of job can be anywhere in the world.
