The idea of a logo to identify yourself to the public is a great concept of course but the logo by itself is useless. The nature of a logo of course is for that symbol to identify a certain company or product. For example the swoosh on a sneaker would indicate to you a little company by the name of Nike. Now you did not always know that the swoosh at one time was a part of a bigger emblem that of the word Nike with the swoosh.
You see it’s the simple combination of the logo or emblem if you will with the a single word or small combination of words to indicate to you the public what that logo means or represents. The best one’s are the logos that have just a single word attached to it that lets everyone that sees it know what that symbol represents.
Some of the best examples of this would be the swoosh for Nike, the red bulls eye is….. you know it target, the G for google, or the e for Internet explorer. These are all logos that when launched had the word attached to them until a time when the mere vision of the logo was all that was needed to identify the product.
I bring this to your attention for one reason of course. If you are like me and you have even the slightest interest in creating some sort of online presence for yourself as a business then you will want to consider a logo to brand yourself. The point of course is that starting out you want to come up with an original logo that can be identified with one word to help establish an online brand that people will hopefully learn to not only identify but think of when they need your services.
What do you think about the importance of a logo? How important do you feel a logo is to establishing a quality brand that people will look to and identify with when they think of your product or services. Please share your opinions with a few comments and thanks for reading.
